Dr. Latisha Franklin, PhD, ACC, CFI

The idea of Gratified Grad has been brewing since 2017. This is when I decided to empower myself and create a space to help others who may be experiencing what I went through my first year of graduate school. It was my goal to not only survive as a grad student, but thrive!

More often than not, it’s easy for us to get caught up in our work and forget to just be. I’ve been there and sometimes still go there. I’m here to help you create a lifestyle that empowers you to live fully and experience the life you’ve been missing.

I didn't have "the" guide to academia either. I figured it out thru trial and error.

Here are a few things I learned along the way:

1. Graduate school is meant to train you on how to ethically analyze and problem solve.

2. As a graduate student, you are literally creating new knowledge.

3. Seek a mentor that fits your needs FIRST, then think about the research.

4. Showing up at 20% energy counts just as much as showing up at 80% energy. Sometimes it's just important to show up.

5. Your field has its own language, learn it!
